‘Best Telecom Innovation Award 2015’ at Mobile World Congress 2015

French digital minister Axelle Lemaire today presented RED Technologies with the prestigious ‘Business France Best Telecom Innovation Award’ at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. RED Technologies’ patented innovations in dynamic spectrum sharing stand to enable a major, positive shift in spectrum availability and utilization across Europe and beyond. This award recognizes the relevance and wide potential market impact of RED Technologies’ work.
In presenting this award to RED Technologies, Axelle Lemaire explained the global economic importance of the telecom industry and the central role frequencies play in this context. Innovation in spectrum utilization, she pointed out, is a French priority with France being a leader in trials concerning Licensed Shared Access (LSA)*, a recently devised spectrum sharing solution. Lemaire also commented on the impressive French tech. presence at Mobile World Congress with over 180 French companies represented.
RED Technologies co-founders, Pierre-Jean Muller and Michael Abitbol received the award on site at Mobile World Congress where RED Technologies is currently exhibiting. The founders thanked the Minister, jury and RED Technologies’ partners, Qualcomm, Alcatel Lucent and Thales.
“Spectrum is to the telecom industry what water, road and air are to the transport industry. Without it communications cannot function. This is why dynamic spectrum sharing has become such an important solution for meeting the global exponential demand for mobile Internet,” said Pierre-Jean Muller, Chief Executive Officer of RED Technologies.
The annual Business France awards recognize excellence in French industry and are organized in partnership with French flagship corporates, Orange and Air France. Representatives from both of these companies were on the judging panel that selected RED Technologies.
